Imagine a colour two billion years old! That’s the geological history of the rugged, hilly Arkaroola region in northern South Australia before the land turns flat and stays that way to Uluru. The name originates from the area’s first people and a dreamtime monster called Arkaroo. Of late it has become a wildlife sanctuary with a focus on the Yellow-Footed Rock-Wallaby.
